Bottles of Pancake Mix Case Study

The Challenge

A bottled food manufacturing company wanted to significantly improve productivity at its Indiana facility. Before contacting Hamrick Packaging Systems, the company manually hand-packed RSC cases and trays for nine different products—a labor-intensive process.

The Solution

In the spring of 2024, our client upgraded their operations by installing a Hamrick 600D-S case packer on the packaging line. Our case packers have speeds ranging from 15 – 60 cycles per minute and can run most rigid containers (metal, glass, and plastic) in various pack patterns.

43% average increase in productivity across all products
33% reduction in labor required for this production line
Production rates for individual products saw remarkable improvements, increasing by 20% to 67%, depending on the specific product.
These productivity numbers could be greatly increased if the customer needed to!
The improvement left a lasting impression on our customer who said:
“From the initial contact to the SAT at our facility, the entire process was seamless. The professionalism of the entire team at Hamrick is second to none. The quality of their product is second to none. To achieve 500,000 cycles on a piece of packaging equipment in an 8-month timeframe is a testament to the quality of their product. Would I purchase more Hamrick equipment – absolutely. Would I recommend their equipment to others – absolutely. My only problem is I don’t have more of their equipment at our facilities.”

The manufacturing company’s productivity numbers could be greatly increased whenever the customer needs our help.

Why Did They Choose Hamrick?

“We have used Hamrick Drop Packers in the past and are still running to this day. One is a legacy pneumatic that just runs day in and day out. We chose Hamrick for this new Drop Packer because of our success with their product in the past, quality and service. This drop packer was built in 1995, rebuilt in 2009, and is still running today!”
