Pick-and-Place Packers – Machine Models

What is the difference between robotic and conventional pick-and-place systems?

Robotic systems like the ones we build using FANUC robots are typically 4 or 6 axis off the shelf robots with our integration for the application at hand. The pick and place case packers are a Hamrick designed 2-axis gantry pick and place. Picking and transferring the product along the X-axis and placing into the case on the Z-axis.

Can these packers handle fragile or irregularly shaped products?

Yes, the pick and place case packers were designed specifically for fragile glass containers, especially in the liquor industry where cost per bottle is high. Irregularly shaped products are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

What level of customization is available for pick-and-place systems?

We can customize based on the application. Customizations include: flap control for reshipper cases, single and dual head for multiple cases packed per cycle, custom end of arm tooling.

How precise are the robotic arms in product placement?

We utilize servo motors for accuracy when picking and placing. The system is re-homed after any stoppage where intervention has occurred.

What industries are best suited for pick-and-place case packers?

Distilleries, wineries, dairies, or any companies that require washdown capabilities.

Are there options for high-speed operations with these systems?

Yes, we can pack multiple cases per cycle to achieve higher speeds.

Do you provide training or support for operating pick-and-place packers?

Yes, we offer operator training during our Factory Acceptance Testing in Kent, OH at no charge. We also offer operator and maintenance level training during our paid service call Startup & Training Sessions. In addition, we do offer technical support through phone and email service, as well as paid service calls if/when needed.
